The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles (LA... is Hiring a Classroom Aide Near Santa Barbara, CA

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities in accordance with the Catholic school’s curriculum and values.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students needing additional assistance with classwork or assignments.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting Catholic values, ethics, and respectful behavior among students.
  • Support the integration of religious education into daily lessons and activities, emphasizing Catholic teachings and values.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of materials, resources, and classroom displays to enhance the learning environment.
  • Supervise students during various activities, such as recess, lunch, and field trips, ensuring their safety and adherence to school rules.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to address the individual needs of students and contribute to their overall development.
  • Assist in the implementation of classroom management strategies to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Encourage students to participate in religious events, such as prayer services, Mass, and other spiritual activities organized by the school.
  • Help maintain open communication with parents regarding students’ progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay informed about educational practices, curriculum changes, and advancements in Catholic education.
  • Uphold and model the values and expectations set forth by the Catholic school, serving as a positive role model for students.
  • Display children’s work
  • Help prepare and assist in cleaning up class projects
  • With approval of Principal, substitute for teachers as necessary
  • Help plan, organize, and attend class field trips
  • Clean up classroom for the summer

Requirements

The candidate will possess:
A Bachelor’s Degree in an educational field or working on one (preferred)
Experience working with children in a primary grade-level setting
A strong Catholic faith and is committed to continuing formation
An eagerness and dedication to the job

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
